About Huston West

THE ARTIST

Huston West is a Los Angeles based visual artist who works with a wide variety of mediums, and who continues to experiment with implementing new ideas into his creative process. He draws much of his inspiration from street and underground culture, merging street art with elements of abstract and expressionism, while experimenting with a variety of textures to add into his works.

Flowers are at the center, and the soul of each painting. They are a representation of humans, and the human soul. Huston West feels that they are a great reflection of that, as both begin as seeds, who grow into something beautiful. Some come from well-tended gardens, while others grow wild. Some weather rougher storms than others, and lose pieces of themselves, but grow stronger from it. The beauty in the imperfection are what has drawn him most to incorporating flowers into his works.

Each artwork, is typically based on a different part of the human experience. Some are deeply personal, while with others, he creates fictionalized stories within the painting based on personal experience. He also creates paintings reflecting current events, which tie into the human experience, and what it means to be alive today.

 Huston West is a streetwear brand operating at the intersection of art, culture, and design. Rooted in underground influence and refined through thoughtful execution, the brand focuses on premium leisurewear, custom accessories, limited drops, and creative collaboration.

THE BRAND

As a response to mass production, and predictable releases, Huston West has launched a conceptual, wearable art series. He believes that just as we curate our walls with art that resonates with us, and fits our personal style; we should be able to style our wardrobe the same. His conceptual streetwear brand is rooted in underground influence and refined through thoughtful execution, focusing on apparel and accessories. Each product released has a timestamp, meaning that they are all limited. Some, more so than others, keeping each one a collectible item.

IDENTITY

Huston West creates both his art and products for and from the human experience, and creates for those who see the world differently. Through the lens of art. He feels most connected to and inspired by the soulful elements of life, that come through experience, both good and bad. Enduring the bad times are what lead us to the good ones. It's what gives us depth, character, substance, and soul. This is the core inspiration from which his creations stem from. He believes that differencing yourself from the rest, being original and authentic is the best way to live, and he tries to express this through his creations, and encourages others to do the same.
